Research at Resemble AI

Our research team builds and tests models that detect AI across audio, images, video, and agent behavior, so trust endures as AI reshapes how we communicate, work, and decide what’s true.

PRINCIPLES

Research that moves with AI

AI is changing how the world works, and the threats it creates don’t stay in one place. These principles shape what we study, what we build, and how we build it.

01

Adaptive

Treating every advance in AI as a new problem, so detection evolves alongside the technology it’s built to catch.

02

Expansive

Going wherever AI goes, from voice to images, video, and behavior, and on to whatever comes next.

03

Responsible

Building with respect for security, identity, and privacy, because the data being analyzed belongs to real people.

04

Global

Monitoring threats and regulations worldwide, because AI misuse crosses borders and no region faces it alone.

ADVERSARIAL TESTING

We constantly test and improve

Lab conditions aren’t real conditions. Calls get compressed, platforms re-encode uploads, and rooms add echo. So our research team built Proteus, a framework that automatically chains everyday audio processing to find the combinations that can flip our own detector’s verdict. Every weakness it uncovers goes back into training, and Proteus runs again to confirm the fix. It’s a closed loop between finding a blind spot and closing it.

ENGINEERING AGENCY

Featured models

Our detection models are built to help answer the fundamental questions organizations need to restore agency in a changing world.

Is it AI?

DETECT-World

The first world model for detection: combines pattern matching and training with a world model architecture that recognizes deviations from physical reality so it can catch fakes from models it has never seen.

Agent Detection

Extends detection from what AI creates to how AI acts, identifying AI agents by their behavior, allowing organizations to control access and determine a course of action.

Can you trust it?

Intelligence

Turns detection results into plain-language explanations, so people can understand and act on what the model found.

Signal

Scores content against the fraud categories each organization defines, so trust decisions reflect the threats that matter to them.

PerTh Multimodal

Embeds imperceptible watermarks across audio, images, and video, so provenance travels with the content.

Identity

Enrolls a person’s voice and likeness, then verifies them against it, so you can confirm who’s real, not just flag what’s fake.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Resemble AI build so many detection models?
Resemble AI builds many deepfake detection and watermarking models because AI misuse looks different in every format. A cloned voice, a face-swapped video, an AI-generated image, and an AI agent posing as a person each leave different evidence. DETECT-World detects deepfakes in audio, video, and images, RAD-S1 identifies AI agents by how they move, type, and click, and PerTh Multimodal watermarks content so its origin can be verified.
How does Resemble AI test its models?
Resemble AI tests its deepfake detection models against the conditions they’ll face in the real world rather than clean lab data. Our research team built Proteus, a framework that chains everyday audio processing like call compression, re-encoding, and echo to find what can flip our own detector’s verdict. Every weakness goes back into training. So far, Proteus has tested 17,405 processing chains across about 110 audio variants.
Is Resemble AI’s research independently validated?
Resemble AI’s audio deepfake detection has been independently validated by Podonos, with DETECT-World reaching 99.5% accuracy on audio. Our Proteus adversarial testing research was presented at ISSMAD 2026, and we publish benchmark results openly, including a 2026 study comparing how 8 audio deepfake detection systems performed. We also test for fairness. Our DETECT-3B-Omni research reports consistent results regardless of what the content says or who appears in it.
Does Resemble AI share its detection models, code, or datasets?
Resemble AI publishes its deepfake detection and watermarking research papers and benchmark results on this page, and some of our tools are open source on GitHub, including Resemblyzer, our voice embedding library. Our production detection models, including DETECT-World, are available through the Resemble AI API, which you can start using for free. Researchers interested in datasets or collaboration can reach our team through the contact page.
How does Resemble AI turn its detection and watermarking research into products?
Resemble AI’s deepfake detection and watermarking research ships directly into the products customers use. DETECT-World powers deepfake detection in Resemble Detect, RAD-S1 powers Resemble Agent Detection, and PerTh Multimodal powers Resemble Watermarker. Our explainability research shapes how Resemble Intelligence turns detection results into plain-language findings. Testing research like Proteus feeds back into training, so the models in production keep improving as new weaknesses are found.
Is Resemble AI hiring AI detection researchers or partnering with universities?
Resemble AI hires researchers, engineers, and research interns to work on AI detection and watermarking, and open roles are posted on our careers page. [We partner with universities and research groups on X. / We’re open to research collaborations in deepfake detection, watermarking, and AI agent detection.] If you’re working on related problems, reach out through our contact page.
