The Resemble AI Press Access Tier (“Press Tier”) provides qualifying journalists, editors, and investigative researchers at recognized press organizations with free access to Resemble Detect, including DETECT-3B Omni and Resemble Intelligence Lite.
Eligibility is limited to individuals working at organizations whose primary purpose is journalism, news reporting, or editorial fact-checking. Resemble AI reserves the right to determine eligibility at its sole discretion and to request verification of press credentials at any time.
Access is granted to the organization, not to individuals. The account holder is responsible for all usage under their outlet’s account, including any users they invite.
These Press Tier Terms operate as a supplement to Resemble AI’s standard Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, both of which apply in full to all Press Tier users. Where these terms conflict with the general Terms of Service, these Press Tier Terms govern with respect to the specific subject matter addressed here.
All other provisions of the general Terms of Service remain in effect.
Upon approval, qualifying press organizations receive the following at no charge:
Scan pool. The 90 monthly scans are a shared pool. The account holder may allocate them freely among their invited users. Unused scans do not roll over. The pool resets on the first day of each calendar month.
Press Tier users may unlock additional access by contributing to Resemble AI’s public-facing materials. The following upgrades are available:
Provide a usable quote about your experience with Resemble Detect for use in Resemble AI’s marketing materials.
Upon approval, you may choose one of the following upgrades:
The quote must be approved by Resemble AI before the upgrade is activated. Resemble AI will not alter the meaning of a quote, but may request revisions for clarity or length.
Participate in a co-authored case study documenting your use of Resemble Detect in a real editorial or investigative context.
Unlock: Unlimited detection scans for one year from the date of publication, for up to 5 named users.
The case study must include, at minimum:
Resemble AI will author the first draft based on information provided by the outlet. The outlet has 14 calendar days to review, request revisions, and approve the final version.
The upgrade activates upon written approval. If no response is received within 14 days, Resemble AI will follow up once before the offer lapses.
Agree to credit Resemble AI on all applicable published media — either by watermarking detection results or including an explicit credit line (e.g., “Verified by Resemble AI” or “Powered by Resemble AI”) in articles, reports, or content where Resemble Detect was used in the verification process.
Unlock: Unlimited detection scans for the duration of the attribution agreement, for up to 3 users. The agreement is active so long as attribution is applied consistently to all applicable published content. If attribution practice lapses, Resemble AI will notify the account holder and allow 14 days to remedy before reverting access to the base tier.
Attribution must appear on all content where the tool was used, not selectively. This agreement is reviewed annually and may be renewed.
Upgrades are not stackable. The Case Study tier and Attribution tier each independently grant unlimited usage and supersede the base allocation. The Quote tier upgrade applies on top of the base tier only.
Where a user holds both a Case Study and Attribution agreement, the more generous seat allowance (5 users) applies.
By accepting Press Tier access, you grant Resemble AI a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your organization’s name and logo in Resemble AI’s marketing materials, website, and press materials solely for the purpose of identifying you as a Press Tier user or reference customer. Resemble AI will not imply editorial endorsement of its products beyond what is supported by your own statements.
Resemble AI grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to display the Resemble AI name and logo in connection with published content where Resemble Detect was used, subject to Resemble AI’s then-current brand guidelines. Use of Resemble AI’s logo outside of this context requires separate written approval.
Either party may request removal of their name or logo from the other party’s materials at any time with 30 days’ written notice, and the other party will comply within that period.
Press Tier access is granted for editorial and journalistic use only.

Base tier users receive 90 scans per month. When your account reaches 85 scans in a given month — 5 scans before the limit — Resemble AI will send an automated notification to the account holder’s registered email address.
Once the monthly limit is reached, additional scans are available on a pay-as-you-go basis at Resemble AI’s then-current per-scan rate. Your account will not be automatically charged without explicit opt-in. If you do not opt in to pay-as-you-go, scanning will be suspended until your allocation resets at the beginning of the next calendar month.
If you consistently require more than 90 scans per month, contact press@resemble.ai to discuss upgraded access options or enterprise licensing.
Press Tier access is provided at Resemble AI’s discretion. Where revocation is not due to a breach of these terms, Resemble AI will provide at least 30 days’ written notice before terminating access. Where revocation is due to a breach of these terms or Resemble AI’s general Terms of Service, access may be suspended immediately pending investigation, with notice provided as soon as reasonably practicable.

Upon termination or revocation of access for any reason, all associated access — including any upgraded tier benefits such as additional seats, credits, or unlimited usage — terminates in kind.
Upon termination, you will have 14 days to export or download any detection results stored in your account. After this period, Resemble AI has no obligation to preserve data, results, or account history.
You may also terminate your participation in the Press Tier at any time by contacting press@resemble.ai. Termination does not affect any obligations that arose prior to the termination date.
Upgrade agreements. If you have an active Case Study or Attribution tier agreement, revocation or voluntary termination of Press Tier access ends that agreement and the associated unlimited usage immediately. For Attribution tier users, termination of the attribution practice also constitutes termination of the unlimited access benefit, subject to the 14-day remedy period described in Section 04. Any case study already published by Resemble AI prior to termination may remain published unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.
Resemble Detect produces probabilistic outputs. Detection results — including confidence scores, modality signals, and explainability summaries — are not conclusive determinations of authenticity or inauthenticity. Results may contain errors, including false positives and false negatives.
Resemble AI makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any detection result. Results should not be used as the sole basis for publication, editorial decisions, or legal proceedings. Users are solely responsible for independently verifying results before acting on them.
RESEMBLE AI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
Media submitted for scanning (audio, video, and image files) is processed solely for the purpose of generating a detection result. Resemble AI does not use submitted media to train, fine-tune, or improve its models without your explicit written consent.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and consents to submit any media for scanning. Resemble AI processes submitted media as a data processor on your behalf for the purposes of applicable data protection law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the Press Tier that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered by the ADR Institute of Canada under its National Arbitration Rules, with proceedings conducted in Toronto, Ontario. Each party bears its own costs unless the arbitrator finds a claim frivolous.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
