By using the @resemble_detect bot on X, you agree to Resemble AI’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, plus the following additional terms specific to this service:

What This Bot Does

Tag @resemble_detect on any post containing an image or video with the phrase “is this fake?” and we’ll analyze the content and reply with a confidence score indicating the likelihood that it’s AI-generated or manipulated.

Prohibited Content

1. No Explicit Content

Do not submit sexually explicit material, pornography, or intimate imagery of any kind. The bot will not process this content and repeated attempts may result in your access being blocked.

2. CSAM Is Prohibited

Child sexual abuse material is strictly prohibited. Any attempts to submit such content will result in immediate and permanent blocking, and we will cooperate fully with law enforcement.

Understanding Detection Results

3. Detection Results Are Estimates Only

Our models return confidence scores, not definitive verdicts. These are probabilistic estimates that can be wrong.

Do not treat detection output as:

  • Conclusive proof of authenticity or manipulation
  • Expert forensic analysis
  • Evidence suitable for legal, academic, or professional proceedings without independent verification

You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on detection results.

4. This Is Not Consent Verification

Detection tells you whether content may be AI-generated. It does not tell you whether anyone consented to its creation or distribution.

  • A “real” result does not mean you have permission to share something
  • A “fake” result does not mean you do
  • Do not use this bot to justify sharing non-consensual intimate imagery or deepfakes

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Use detection results to harass, defame, or make false accusations against others
  • Present results as definitive proof without independent expert verification
  • Submit others’ private or confidential content without permission
  • Spam or abuse the service with excessive automated requests
  • Misrepresent detection results or their source
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or manipulate the detection system

Content You Submit

When you tag the bot:

  • You confirm you have the right to submit the content for analysis
  • You grant us a license to access, download, and analyze the tagged content
  • We may retain content and results to improve our detection models
  • We are not responsible for the content you submit or ask us to analyze

No Warranties

THE BOT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

  • Detection results will be accurate, reliable, or error-free
  • The bot will always be available or respond to tags
  • The service will meet your needs or expectations

No Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESEMBLE AI IS NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Incorrect detection results or decisions you make based on them
  • Any harm caused by your use or misuse of detection results
  • Service interruptions, errors, or unavailability
  • Any damages whatsoever arising from your use of this bot

BECAUSE THIS IS A FREE SERVICE, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO $0.

You’re Responsible for Your Actions

You agree to defend and hold harmless Resemble AI from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • How you use or share detection results
  • Content you submit to the bot
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Service Availability

We may:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the bot at any time without notice
  • Change how the bot works or what it detects
  • Limit the number of requests we process
  • Experience downtime or errors

We have no obligation to maintain or support this service.

We May Block Users

We reserve the right to block any user from accessing this service at our sole discretion, including for:

  • Submitting prohibited content
  • Using the bot to facilitate harassment or abuse
  • Violating these terms
  • Any other conduct we determine to be harmful

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
